Obituary of Wenzel Zimmer

Wenzel Zimmer was born on December 8, 1922 in the Grayson district of Saskatchewan a son to Bernard and Theresa (nee Parislau) Zimmer. He received his education at Columbia School and helped his parents on the family farm. On October 27, 1943 Wenzel was united in marriage to Caroline Novak at St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church in Killaly. This union was blessed with six children. He farmed in Dubuc, then later moved to Grayson until retiring. After his loving wife Lena passed, Wenzel moved to Regina in January 2009 and spent time with family. Wenzel enjoyed visiting with his family, playing cards listening to old time music, and fishing. Wenzel entered his eternal rest on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Parkside Extendicare in Regina. He was 89 years of age. Predeceased by his father Bernard and mother Theresa, loving wife Lena in 2008, brothers, William and Donald, step-sisters Sophie (John), Julia (Adam) and Rose, Step-brothers, Kasper (Julia), Adam (Sophie) and Bernard. Wenzel leaves to cherish his memory his six children, Ronald (Marlene) Zimmer, Connie (Allen) Hollinger, Sandra (Stan) Exner, Bernadette (Randy) Deis, Charlene (Rob) Dzubas and Glenda (Randy) Thiedig; grandchildren, Sherry Schmidt, Kim (Paul) Knourek, Amanda (Kyle) Johnston, Blaine (Michele) Hollinger, Stacy (Jeff) Fairholm, Leah (Chris) Izquierdo, Sara (Mike) Schier, Daniel Deis, Tiffany Dzubas (friend Linely), Scott (Dana) Thiedig, Owen Thiedig, (friend Megan), Ashten Thiedig (friend Dean); great grandchildren; Chelsea, Katelyn, Brayden, Samantha, Jason, Andrew, Thomas, Joshua, Madison, Eva, Emma, Alina, Tianna, Ethan and Scarlett; brothers, Jack (Elizabeth), Carl (Jeanette), Sebastian (Shirley), Peter (Mary), Walter (Nancy); sisters-in-law, Mary and Aileen.
