Obituary of Garry Stewart
STEWART - Robert Garry Stewart was born June 18, 1947 to Robert and Dorothy (Reece) Stewart of Dodsland, SK. He attended school in Dodsland and Plenty, then later moved to Saskatoon to work. He met his wife, Anita in 1970 and they married on July 3, 1971. They moved to Melville in September 1981 to own and operate the local Dairy Queen. He worked alongside his wife for 25 years while helping to raise their three children and being an active member of the Melville community. After retiring in 2006, Garry (and Anita) spent 5 wonderful winters at Yuma Mesa RV Park, enjoying the fellowship, sun and golf. Garry's loves were his family, golf, and hockey. He was actively involved in his children's lives, coaching hockey and baseball. Garry gave much of his time volunteering in the community through the Legion, Melville Minor Sports, the Knights of Columbus and numerous hockey and golf events. Garry was predeceased by his father Robert and his mother Dorothy. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 40 years, Anita; his children, Troy (Leona) and their children Cody and Kaylynn of Swift Current; Kevin (Raegan) of Calgary and Chantel of Saskatoon; his sister Lynne (George) Drabble of Saskatoon; his brother John of Dodsland; and a number of extended family.
