DROBOT - Mr. Eugene Drobot of the Mikado district peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 5, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was 58 years of age. Eugene was born on November 4, 1953 in Canora, a son of Nick and Mary (Kolisnek) Drobot. He attended school at Canora and later in Langley, BC. He received his mechanics diploma in June 6, 1981. On August 9, 1975 Eugene married Stephanie Korchynski and together they were blessed with two children, Kevin and Kayla. They resided in Regina for three years where Eugene worked as a mechanic for the Auction Barn. In 1983 they returned to Canora where they took up residence on the family farm. Eugene worked as a mechanic at the Sea Bee Mine and Jolu Mines until his accident when he returned to the family farm and continued to work as a mechanic for surrounding friends and neighbors. His pride and Joy were his children, Kevin and Kayla, the family farm and his 1970 Camaro. Eugene was a kind hearted man who spent a lot of time repairing for friends and family. His love of photography is evident in his collection of millions of pictures which he unselfishly shared with family and friends. Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Nick (1966) and Mary (2007); brothers, Martin, John (1971) and Ken (1975); brother in law Heinrick (2008) and many family and friends. He is survived by Stephanie and two wonderful children, Kevin and his fiancé Danielle Kortmeyer of Calgary and Kayla of Kelowna; his brother Orville (Angie) of Mikado; his sisters, Rose of Vancouver, Irene of Weiden Switzerland and Twila (Bob) of Aldergrove, BC, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Eugene's life has touched many hearts and he will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Father Ray Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating. The responses were led by Ed Pindus, Colette Karapita and St. Mary's Choir Members. The eulogy was shared by Orville Drobot. The interment followed in the Family Plot in the Garden of Crucifixion at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Kevin & Kayla Drobot serving as the urn bearers.
