Obituary of John Fedorak
FEDORAK - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John Fedorak of Stornoway, SK on Sept 6, 2012 at the Kamsack and District Nursing Home at the age of 88 years. John was born on Aug. 7, 1924 to George and Katherine Fedorak (nee Andrusiak) on the family farm north of Stornoway and as a child attended Angove School. John was a well known and respected farmer in the Stornoway and Kamsack district. He took great pride in grain and cattle farming. John also had excellent carpentry and mechanical skills and was always willing the help family, friends, and neighbours. In earlier years, John enjoyed playing the violin and played at various functions with his brother Steven on the dulcimer. He also liked to curl, bowl, and cross-country ski. John was a member of numerous Wheat Pool boards in the area and served as a board member at the Stornoway Co-op. Every year he volunteered at the Farmers Union Booth during the Thresherman's Show at Yorkton. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Betty; his sons, Garry of Yorkton and Rob (Shirley) of Mexico; his stepchildren Herb (Cheryl) of Madge Lake, Deb (John) of St. Albert, Clay (Tania) of Calgary; his sister Elsie (Harold) Manders of Winnipeg; and, sister-in-law Annie Fedorak of Kamsack. John will also be fondly remember by his ten grandchildren: Lisa, Kris (Rachel), Cory, Devin, Matthew, Katelyn, Justin, Lindsay, Michael, Shane, and great granddaughter Yuna, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his parents George and Katherine (nee Andrusiak); two brothers Steve and Mike; brother-in-law Metro Cherewyk; sister-in-law Marge, and first wife Vicki Schwab (nee Babinchuk) and his sister Olga Cherewyk deceased on September 10, 2012. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Cordelia Karpenko of St. Andrew's United Church officiating. The organist, Amanda Buhler led in the singing of the hymns, "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "Amazing Grace". The scripture reading was by Al Fedorak. Words of Remembrance were shared by Lisa, Kris & Cory Fedorak and Devin & Matthew Bear. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Matthew at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Kris Fedorak, Cory Fedorak, Allan Fedorak, Leslie Fedorak, Devin Bear and Matthew Bear serving as the casket bearers.
