Obituary of Harvey Chernipeski
CHERNIPESKI - Mr. Harvey Chernipeski of Yorkton, beloved passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012 at Yorkton Regional Health Centre. Harvey was born on June 29, 1942 in Yorkton, the second youngest son of Steve and Agafia Chernipeski in a family of twelve children. He attended Theodore School and at an early age worked in the trucking industry with his brothers. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He always took pride in keeping up his home and his beautiful yard and trees on his acreage outside of town. His greatest joy was his cat, snowball and his passion for trucking. He enjoyed his morning coffee a good game of dice with friends and family. He also enjoyed listening to his favourite singer, George Jones. Predeceased by his parents; sisters Mary and Kay Manchur; brother Nick and brothers-in-law Tony Manchur and Harry Knight; he is survived by his life partner of 31 years, Eileen Baziuk and her daughter Tammy Rode and her children Brittney, Bryce and Brooke; a daughter Carissa (Clint Halliday) and her two boys; two sisters Ann Knight and Emillie Chernipeski; brothers Ivon (Lily), Mike (Bernice), Victor (Marge), Alex (Adelle), Edward and Steven (Marina). Also his father and mother-in-law Fred and Elsie Baziuk and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and all that knew them. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey officiating. The organist, Vange Shipowick led the congregation in the singing of the hymn, "Blessed Assurance". Taped selections, "Wandering Soul" and "Choices" by George Jones were included in the service. Words of Remembrance were shared by Bryce & Brook Rode and Gwenda Gara. Tammy Rode conveyed words of gratitude. The interment followed in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Theodore with Chris Chernipeski, Steven M. Chernipeski, Brad Chernipeski, Eric Sorenson, James Baziuk and Ryan Marianchuk serving as the casket bearers. Memorial honouring Harvey's life may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society as gifts of remembrance.
