Obituary of Blanche Nagy

NAGY - Blanche Mary Therese Nagy was born on July 25, 1930 at Melville, Saskatchewan; a daughter of Victor & Rose (nee Rusnak) Lemaire. She received her education at St. Henry's School. On June 15, 1949 she was united in marriage to Joseph Nagy of the Otthon district. The couple settled into farming and raising their family of nine children. Blanche was widowed in 1978 by the sudden passing of Joe. Following that time she continued to make her home on the farm as son Dennis took over the farming duties. Mom, granny, great granny, aunt, sister & friend will be remembered for her kind heart, her generosity towards others, and for her enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life. Her homemade bread, her hot mustard recipe, the famous dill pickles, and the generous meals that she prepared for anyone who came to her door. To anyone what seemed like a feast, she always replied "it wasn't much". Blanche passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville. She was 82 years of age. Everybody is alive until they die, but not everyone "lives" until they die. Mom lived. Besides her husband Joe, she was predeceased by her parents, a brother Lloyd, and by a son-in-law, Tom Reid. Mom, granny, great granny is survived by her Pride and Joy, her legacy: daughter JoAnn (Stan) Graves of PhoneHill, SK, their children: Tammy (Wade) Oberg and children Kayla, Bailey, MacKenzie and Payton of Weyburn, SK, Amanda (Larry) Fisher of Kelowna, BC, Rebecca (Brent) Colley, children Boston and Parker of Pitt Meadows, BC, David (Bailee) Graves, children Ryden and Jersey of Yorkton; son Dennis of Yorkton; son David (Pat), their children Aimee, Michael (Brandy), Curtis (Brandy) of Stonewall, MB; daughter Kathy Reid (Randy) of Melville, their children Leann (Clint) Leontowich of Leduc, AB, Aaron of Warman, SK and Owen of Ituna, SK; daughter Claudette (Wayne) Pachal of Flin Flon, MB, their children: Everett (Kristy-rae) Pachal, children Claudia, Tyson & Griffin of Saskatoon, Sarah and Taydem, Ashley (Shane) and Kane of Flin Flon; son Kirk (Miranda) of Flin Flon; daughter Karen of Regina; son Tim of Flin Flon; son Mark (Donna) and children Clayton (Caitlyn), Calsey (Keelan) and Emma, Carlene of Flin Flon. Also two sisters: Betty Crow and Rosemarie Lemire of Melville, and numerous nieces, nephews and her many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 19th 2012 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Crystal Bailey, certified funeral celebrant officiated. The eulogy was given by Leona Bisch. Music for the funeral was made from some of Blanche's favorite songs. Soloist Len Varga sang 'Come Back To Me'. The interment took place in the Otthon Hungarian Cemetery with David Graves, Everett Pachal, Michael, Curtis & Clayton Nagy, and Owen and Aaron Reid serving as the casketbearers.
