JUBA - Mildred Juba was born on January 18, 1928 at Lestock, SK., daughter of Donald and Jospehine (nee Kostenly) Lewis. In 1930 they moved to the Homefield area, living on the family farm. Later Millie attended Smokeside School. She completed her education at the Yorkton Collegiate Institute in 1946. In 1947 she was united in marriage to Andy Juba at St. Andrew's United Church in Yorkton. Millie and Andy settled in Yorkton, raising their son Glenn and working in the city. Millie and Andy celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last May. Millie was the office manager for Swifts Canadian Company later Gainers Inc. At the time of their closing, July 1988, she then worked from 1989 - 1999 as Secretary for the Army, Navy & Airforce Veteran's Unit. Millie enjoyed many hobbies, most notably was bowling, something she excelled at. Millie represented Yorkton in the East Sask Zones and also on the Saskatchewan team in 3 nationals. She won Provincial Singles Champion in 1983. Millie is a life member of the A.C.T. Ladies Auxiliary and the Sask 5 Pin Bowlers Assoc. Millie was never one to sit idle. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts in her spare time. Gardening was a favorite summer past time. Millie's health had been declining for the past couple of years, but her death came suddenly on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. She was 85 years of age. Predeceased by her parents, she leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Andy, son Glenn and his wife Donna and two grandchildren, Andrew and Carsen of Wetaskiwin, AB. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 18, 2013 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Ken Buchan officiating. Son Glenn gave a tribute to Millie. Organist, Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Church in the Wildwood' and 'In the Garden'. The interment took place in the Garden of Memories Columbarium with son Glenn and grandsons Andrew & Carsen serving as the urnbearers. Condolances can be left at baileysfuneralhome.com. Memorials were to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
