Obituary of Irvin Harvey Rohatinsky

He leaves to mourn his wife Debbie and son Jasen (Noelle). He is survived by his brothers Ray (Sylvia), Larry, Rick (Nancy), Greg (Patty), his sister Diane (Bob). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Irvin was born in Oct 3, 1951 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to Julius and Nell Rohatinsky. He grew up and went to school in Yorkton at St. Alphonsus School and St. Joseph High School. Irvin and Debbie were married May 20, 1972 in Yorkton. Irvin frequently talked about his first few jobs. He discussed working for the local milkman driving the truck before he had his licence. He also worked for his uncle Harry at Rohatensky's Lumber where he fondly talked about pushing rail cars by hand. For the majority of his working years, he was employed as a glazier by Henderson Glass, Centennial Glass, and Mike's Lock, Glass, and Saw Service until his diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Irvin was extremely handy: he loved carpentry and working with his hands. He readily helped others in building numerous projects, and built his own cabin at York Lake and many skateboard ramps for Jasen. Irvin taught his son Jasen his handyman skills and Irvin was so proud that Jasen was able to build a house of his own. Although, Irvin always had some suggestions for Jasen! Irvin enjoyed being outdoors and loved quading, motorcycling, camping, fishing, canoeing, and ski-doing. The family recalls one particular incident where he and his brother-in-law Bill tipped a canoe and came back to the cabin soaking wet, but didn't tell any of the family why they were drenched. Irvin took up running when he was first diagnosed with MS which lasted one day because he was chased by a skunk! Irvin had a passion for watching hockey with his family and drinking Dr. Pepper. Irvin enjoyed travelling. He and Debbie took summer trips to Ontario to visit Jasen where he was working. He also enjoyed many trips to Edmonton to visit his sister Diane and her family.
