Obituary of Harold Mann
1930 - 2013 Harold Henry Mann, 82, of Melville Saskatchewan ended a battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord in the presence of his family at St. Peter's Hospital on Friday March 28, 2013. Harold (Harry) was born on September 1, 1930 and was raised in the Cana area and attended Cana school. Harold married the love of his life, Violet(nee Hershmiller) on October 4, 1957 at St. Paul's Church in Melville. Together they began life farming while living with his parents Chris and Elizabeth Mann. They later took over the farm and over the years raised their six children there. Many stories are told of animals, fencing, harvest, meals in the field, and of course the many gatherings that took place there. Harold and Violet and the kids had fishing days in their younger years and he continued to enjoy fishing into retirement spending many hours at the Melville Dam either with any number of children or grandchildren or on his own for hours waiting for a "good catch". For a number of years he and Violet had fun being creative and experimenting with different patterns making wood ornaments for flea markets and as special gifts for family and friends. Harold enjoyed being busy and productive and making sure a job was well done. Whenever there was a project for any of the kids they both could be counted on to help paint, fix, dig, or whatever the situation called for, often without even being asked. He very much enjoyed a good laugh and many visits with all his immediate and extended family. Harold was recently tragically predeceased by his son Cliff on December 11, 2012. In previous years he also was left to mourn his parents Chris and Elizabeth (nee Sastaunik) Mann, brothers Herb and Ron, and sisters Mabel, Irene, Viola, Connie, and Jean. Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Violet, daughters Carol (Royce) Parlee, children, Misty, Cory, Tyler, and Amanda; Debbie Propp, children, Jamie, Mitchell, Todd, and Trisha; Gail Mann (Richie Senchuk); and sons Randy and Gary (Annamarie), children, Danielle, Megan, and Caitlin; and daughter-in-law Judy, children, Jessie, and Sarah; great grandchildren Jaxon, McKenna, Keira, Nixon, Karver, Parker, and Jayda; brothers and sisters - in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Harold will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed and the family wishes to invite all who are able to attend to join them at St. Paul's Church on Tuesday April 2, 2013 in Melville with internment to follow at the Melville Cemetery.
