Obituary of Mavis Sharon Cobb
(A memorial folder from the funeral service can be printed under the MEMORIES tab click Memorial Folder) COBB - Mrs. Mavis Cobb of the Wroxton district, beloved wife of David Cobb passed away on March 28, 2013 in Jowsey House at Yorkton and District Nursing Home. She was 54 years of age. Mavis Sharon Cobb (nee Osborne) was born January 27, 1959 in Yorkton, SK. She was the eldest child of Clement and Joy Osborne of Yorkton, SK. She spent her early years on the family farm near Wroxton, SK. After graduating from Yorkton Regional High School, she took a travel agency course in Winnipeg, MB. In 1977, she met her husband, David Cobb, and they were married on May 27, 1978 at Patrick Park in Yorkton. They spent the first three years of their marriage in Regina, SK before settling near Wroxton, SK where they raised their seven children. From a young age, Mavis chose to serve her heavenly Father and remained true to that commitment for the rest of her life. Mavis is predeceased by her father-in-law, Richard Cobb. She leaves to cherish fond memories her loving husband of nearly 35 years, David Cobb; son, Phil (Mindy) Cobb and grandson, Blythe; son, Faron Cobb; son, Regan (Lindsey) Cobb; son, Jesse (Audrey) Cobb and grandchildren, Trina, Jamin, and Taron; daughter, Emily (Jeff) Clarkson; son, Dickon Cobb; and son, Rowan Cobb. She will be dearly missed by her parents, Clement and Joy Osborne; mother-in-law, Hazel Cobb; sister, Myra (Les) Lambeth and niece, Jenna (Chad) Barlongo; brother, Nolan (Heather) Osborne; sister, Nancy Osborne; and brother, Jim Osborne as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to those who have stood by them and visited Mavis, especially in her last few months! The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Linnea Cobb, Mary Roper and David Jury officiating. The pianist, Jan Cobb led in the singing of the hymns, In Jesus' Hands, Oh! for the Peace and Where All Is Peaceful. The Guest Registry attendants were Margaret Fenske, Shirley Graham, Marlene Kennedy and Maria Gross. The interment took place in the Garden of St. Mark at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Phil Cobb, Faron Cobb, Regan Cobb, Jeff Clarkson, Jesse Cobb and Dickon Cobb serving as the casket bearers. Memorials honouring Mavis' life may be made to the Yorkton & District Nursing Home.
