Obituary of Wesley Walchuk

Wesley Joseph Walchuk was born on September 23, 1926 in the Brewer District. He was the son of John and Lily Walchuk (nee Konechny). Wesley grew up on the family farm and attended Olson School. He worked in Thunder Bay, Ontario for a couple of years and then returned to Melville and began employment with the CNR until his retirement in 1986. On June 5, 1934 Wesley married Rose Kreklewich at Precious Blood, East Brewer. He enjoyed music, camping, fishing, hunting, coaching and watching baseball. He also was an avid hockey fan and especially enjoyed following the curling circuit. Wesley was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Wesley passed away suddenly on April 12, 2013 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina. He was 86 years of age. Wesley leaves to cherish and celebrate his memory his loving wife Rose; his four children, Robyn (Barry) and their children, Jeffrey (Debbie) and Kara; Rick and his children, Jenifer, Richie and Nicholas; Warren (Cheryl) and their children Wayne (Kim) and Theresa (Jonathan); Don (Laurie) and their children, Michelle, Chad, Noah and Ava; also his great grandchildren, Makayla, Brad, Emily, Grayson and Jeran; daughter-in-law June Walchuk; as well as sisters, Peggy Matewush of Winnipeg and Agnes Callow of Melville; brothers-in-law, Peter Kreklewich in Ontario, Phil Kreklewich, Joe (Marian) Kreklewich of Melville; sisters-in-law Anne (Tony) Novakowski of Martensville, Mary Walchuk and Sylvia Walchuk of Melville.
