A memorail program from the funeral service may be printed under the "Memories" tab, then choose "Memorial Program". John Morari of Calder Saskatchewan died on November 11, 2013. He was predeceased by parents Wasyl and Maria, sisters Verna Egilsson, Dorothy Reid, and brother Stefan. John is survived by brothers Peter of Yorkton, George (Kay) of Toronto and sisters Anna Dickson (Victoria), Elsie Sather (Wynyard) and Rose Gallagher (Ted) of Toronto. Also mourning his passing are sister in - law Ollie Morari - Bishop (Mississauga) and brother in - law Stuart Reid (Cambridge, England). John was born into the farming life and never strayed very far from his roots. He attended Minerva and then Calder schools, filling his extra hours with field work and sports when given the opportunity. In time, the Morari farm specialized in raising Shorthorn cattle. John took tremendous pride in his animals, showing them as far away as Toronto. John's bulls were widely recognized for their superior quality, resulting in many victory toasts raised at the annual Regina Bull Sale. In later life, John embraced new challenges after moving into Calder. His yard was remarkable, with its beautiful flowers, bountiful garden, and perfectly trimmed lawn. John also took up cooking; an art at which he truly excelled. John always flavoured his meals with his special ingredients of humour and stories. When asked for the secret of his latest creation, John would often reply in all earnestness, "you just have to have the taste". "Uncle John" earned a special place in the hearts of three generations of children who can all recount the joy of a trip to Calder. John's quick - witted teasing made them feel special in their own way. He loved to challenge the kids to foot races, shooting contests, and even games of backyard golf and baseball. John always supported the endeavours of his many nieces and nephews. His praise and encouragement made them feel he was their number one fan. John Morari was a man who attained great richness in life. His kindness and generosity of spirit graced the lives of those he encountered. John's personal courage and fortitude were an inspiration to us all. Long is the list of those who John counted as friends. Far greater is the number of those who were touched by his love.
