BOGUTSKI - Mrs. Mary Bogutski went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2014 at the Canora Gateway Lodge. She was 100 years of age. Mary was born on February 10, 1914 in the Jedburgh district, the daughter of Mathew and Antonia (nee Kushko) Pacholko. As a young girl she attended Nanton School and helped on the family farm. In June, 1934 she was united in marriage to William Bogutski. They farmed in the Beaverdale district for many years and were blessed with one daughter, Eileen. Mary was a hard working farm wife, tending to the animals, working in the fields, growing a big garden, canning, pickling and making sure there was always enough food on the table. She loved cooking and baking; banana muffins being her favourite. Mary was a self-taught great seamstress, making a lot of the clothes for her daughter and herself. She also did some sewing for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Remnants of material were turned into Barbie clothes. In 1961, Mary moved to Yorkton where she was employed at the Co-op Eviscerating Plant. When she could no longer do that she took up babysitting for different families, giving the children her love like they were her own. When she finally retired she lived with her daughter, helping with household chores and just being there for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Mary moved to Queen Elizabeth Court in 1979 and remained there until she was 90 years of age. After two years living with Eileen she moved to the Canora Gateway Lodge where she remained until her passing. Mary was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Church Choir. Mary was predeceased by her parents; brothers Steve, Anton, Nick and Mathew; sisters Julie, Minnie, Kay and Stella and son-in-law Paul. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Eileen; grandchildren Elvis (Louise), Randy (Terry), Rick (Patti) and Nadine (Norm); great grandchildren Travis, Jared, Mack, Logan, Alison, Tegan and Callie; as well as nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Methodius Kushko, C.Ss.R. officiating. The responses were led by Ed Pindus & parish choir members. The cross bearer was Callie Wilk and the epistle reader was Travis Wilk. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Travis Wilk, Jared Wilk, Mackenzie Wilk, Alison Wilk, Logan Wilk and Tegan Kozushka serving as the casket bearers. Memorials honouring Mary's life may be made to the Canora Gateway Lodge. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com Vichnaya Pamyat! Eternal memory!
