Obituary of James "Jim" Tymiak
A memorial folder from the funeral service may be printed under the "Memories" tab, then choose "Memorial Program". James Stephen Tymiak was born on April 28, 1952 in Ituna, SK to Steve and Sophie Tymiak (Wingerak). Jim grew up in the village of Jasmin, SK. While growing up he spent his time helping with family chores and doing farm work for neighbors and relatives. Jim enjoyed growing up in the unique village of Jasmin because there were so many children to play with. They would play many different games and would play until after dark. Jim attended Jasmin School until grade 9 when the big step was taken to attend Kelliher School. School was not for Jim so he completed grade 10 and ventured out into the work force. On June 3, 1972 Jim married his best friend and soul mate Marlene Blight in Jasmin, SK. Marlene & Jim lived in Regina for two years and then moved back to Kelliher in 1974. Jim and Marlene were blessed with two wonderful daughters. Tarilynn Dawn born August 29, 1975 and Corilynn Rae born March 24, 1977. Jim was a doting husband and father always supporting his girls in everything they were involved in. He spent countless hours watching figure skating and precision skating, attending Ukrainian dance competitions and cheering on the sidelines at sporting events. Jim was always so proud of everything his family was involved in. Jim enjoyed a long career of truck driving in the Kelliher area in the 80's and 90's. In the mid 90's he enrolled in an upholstery course through the community college and also received his 1A license. He operated a side business called J&M Upholstery for ten years. Upholstery was a past-time Jim enjoyed and he continued his hobby business until he went long-haul trucking in 1996. He loved driving his semi and pulling his Super-B of fuel across Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. A high light of his truck driving career was having the opportunity to haul fuel across the ice roads in northern Manitoba for five winters. Jim had very fond memories of the time spent on the ice roads and of all the friends he met throughout his driving career. Jim's favorite past times were fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle with his 'biker babe' Marlene by his side. He enjoyed the times spent out at their seasonal campsite at Fishing Lake with his family and friends. Many memories were made sitting around the campfire, floating on the water in the boat and visiting on the beach. Jim's grandchildren, Tyson and Chloe added an additional sparkle to his eye and made the smile on his face stretch ear to ear. There was not a day that went by where Jim did not mention his grandchildren in conversation. They added so much joy and fulfillment to his life. Jim was predeceased by his Gido John Wingerak in 1978, his Gido Peter Tymiak in 1983, his Father Steve Tymiak in 1997 and his Baba Josephine Tymiak in 1999. Jim is survived by his loving wife Marlene of 42 years, his daughters Tarilynn Tymiak of Regina and Corilynn (Curtis) Nakonechny of Cupar. His grandchildren Tyson and Chloe Nakonechny of Cupar. His mother Sophie Tymiak of Jasmin and his brother Larry (Sylvia) Tymiak of Jasmin. His sister-in-law Maureen Blight (David) and brother-in-laws Brian Blight (Kathy) and Rob Blight (Kelly). He also leaves to mourn his niece and nephews, Micheal & Steven Tymiak, Keith, Kurt, Kris, Chantelle and Katlin Blight and their families along with many relatives and friends. Service Information
