July 31, 2014 Today I lost my dear friend and neighbor Iris, she was like my second mom, you knew the coffee was on at 9:30, warm muffins or cookies on the go before 8am, or that piece of coconut cream pie she was saving in the fridge (she knew it was Kenny's favorite) the angel food cakes with her special strawberries and whipped cream that she'd bring for our birthdays, or her favorite line "take these rainbow cookies home for Kenny" but I really never shared them, sorry Kenny. Then there was the discussions of what cook book should I get next! I'm sure she had about 100 of them. Next to my Baba, Iris was the Nachinka Queen, always offering to make it for our Church services or just because. My best memory with her was when we went to the Canadian Country Music Awards in Regina, she was thrilled! I will miss her dearly
