Obituary of Margaret Komarychka

KOMARYCHKA - Margaret Komarychka of St. Paul Lutheran Home wife of the late Alex Komarychka entered her eternal rest with family at her side on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 86 years. Margaret was born on November 1, 1927 in the Plain View district of Saskatchewan, a daughter to Dmytro and Xenia (nee Halushka) Stadnyk. Margaret received her education at Maxwelton School and helped on the family farm. Margaret continued to help on the farm until October 12, 1947 when she married the love of her life Alex Komarychka at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Plain View Church. The couple resided on Alex's parent's farm and took over the farm in 1950 when his parents retired. In the fall of 1980 Margaret and Alex moved into Melville later they moved to a senior complex on 5th Ave. When Alex passed away Margaret moved to the Heritage House. In the fall of 2011 Margaret moved to St. Anne's Christian Centre in Ituna and in 2013 Margaret was placed at the Gateway Lodge in Canora and in the fall of November 2013 Moved to St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville. Margaret was a very active member of St. Paraskevia Ukrainian Catholic Church in Birmingham. As soon as Margaret became a member of the church she became secretary until the church closed. In Melville she was a member of St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Melville and helped at different occasions at the Ukrainian Hall. Margaret was involved with the Seniors Hall, Meal's on Wheels, working at the Thrift Shop and the Melville Horticultural. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, sewing, bowling, fishing, playing shuffleboard and playing cards. Her most enjoyment was having her family visit. When asked by her grandchildren who was her favorite she would say all of you. Predeceased by parents; husband Alex; brothers Andrew, Daniel (Natalie) and Emil; sister Eleanor (Peter) Klepachek and son-in-law Darrel Schienbein. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her children, Marianne (Doug) Miller of Regina, and her children Shannon (Rick) children Chris, Tegan and Jerrid: John (Marcie) their children Abrieana and Maggie; Elaine (Harvey) Harrick of Yorkton, their children Shelley (Darren) children Shirae and Jade: Joey (Carla) children Cassidy and Bailey: Rodney (Linda) Komarychka of Melville, their children Justin (Lori) children Molly, Anna and Jack: Tammy (Ash) and Tina (Corey) daughter Ava: Rosalyn (Glen) Gamracy of Melville their children Kevin (Tanya) children Austin (Megan): Taylor and Reese: Kendra sons Jeremy and Ben: Lana daughter Patience: Loraine (Maynard) Chinski of Mainprize their children Krista (Adam) children Reise, Kaily and Rylie: Jeffrey and Melissa (Trent): Patrick (Susan) Komarychka of Saskatoon his children Desiree (Rick) children Charlie and Frankie: Jesse, Shea, Maegan and Evan; sisters-in-law Jean Stadnyk and Lorraine Stadnyk; as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Margaret will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her heart of gold. Prayer Services were held on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. from St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Melville. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church with Very Rev. Fr. Peter Pidskalny C .Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The crossbearer was Shea Komarychka and the responses were sung by members of St. George's Church Choir. The epistle reader was Lana Gamracy and Krista Bakken gave a tribute on Margaret's life. Honorary bearers were Margaret's grandchildren, great grandchildren and everyone who knew and loved her. The interment followed in the St. Paraskevia Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Birmingham with John Schienbein, Joey Harrick, Justin Komarychka, Kevin Gamracy, Jeffrey Chinski and Jesse Komarychka as the casket bearers.
