LEZON - Mrs. Doreen Lezon of Yorkton, widow of Walter Lezon passed away on September 12, 2014 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. She was 71 years of age. Doreen was born on December 12th, 1942 to Metro and Annie (Wasylowich) Spilchen in the Whitesand district. She was united in marriage to Walter Lezon on February 17th, 1962. They were blessed with 3 children, Linda Kerr (Ron), John Lezon and Brenda Weatherby; 3 grandchildren Chris Kerr (special friend Chelsey) Kerr of Yorkton), Terrie Littman (special friend Adam) of Saltcoats, Kellee Kerr (special friend Devan Makowetski of Yorkton); 4 great grandchildren, Marissa and Camden Kerr, Emma and Kirk Littman. She worked for the Yorkton Sunrise Health Region in the laundry and housekeeping department for 30 years. It was agreed that her laundering skills could not be matched. Doreen always loved nature and animals. Bam Bam was probably her favorite family dog, as well as numerous cats. She loved Steven Seagull and Chuck Norris movies. Her love of crocheting has been passed down to her daughters and granddaughters. Many hours were spent with her grandchildren, be it watching a movie or long drives out to family farms. The children fondly remember Christmas Eve suppers, and having the Easter meal blessed every year along with playing in her immaculately kept weed free garden. Her catholic faith was a very important part of her life. She was predeceased by her late husband Walter Lezon, brother in law John Petrowsky, brother, Peter and his wife Olga Spilchen and sister Madelyne Sterner. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Very Rev. Fr. Peter Pidskalny, C.Ss.R. officiating. The responses were led by Ed Pindus and Nestor Kyba. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Darcy Tymko, Allan Zwirsky, Jeffrey Spilchen, Chris Kerr, Richard Karapita and Ralph Karapita serving as the casket bearers.
