Obituary of Elsie Todoschuk

TODOSCHUK - Mrs. Elsie Todoschuk, resident of Kamsack, Saskatchewan, widow of John Todoschuk entered eternal rest peacefully in her sleep on October 6, 2014, at the age of 82. Elsie Todoschuk was born June 10, 1932 on the family farm in Stornoway, Saskatchewan. She was the daughter of Ted and Mary (Griff) Matechuk. She received her education at New Canadian School. In 1950 she was united in marriage to John Todoschuk and farmed in the Verigin district. Elsie remained on the farm until 2010 when she moved into the Eaglestone Lodge until her passing. She was devoted to her family and took time to teach her grandchildren to knit, hobbies and play cards. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking and quilting. Elsie leaves to cherish her memory, her children Richard and Shirley Todoschuk of Winnipeg, Ernest and Mavis Todoschuk of Regina, Johnny and Debbie Todoschuk of Regina and Anthony and Cheryl Todoschuk of Verigin; sister Pearl Kitzul of Swan River, Manitoba; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her husband John in 1998, parents Ted Matechuk in 1975, and Mary Matechuk in 1954, daughter Shirley in 1950, son Harold in in 1995, granddaughter Angelica in 1997 and great granddaughter Avery in 1999; sisters, Emily Sasyniuk in 1965 and Lena Bodnaryk in 2012. Prayers were held Monday, October 13, 2014 and the Funeral Service on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Yorkton with Very Rev. Father Mel Slashinsky officiating. The responses were led by Gerald Yaholnitsky & parish choir members. The cross bearer was Michelle Stephens. Honourary Bearers were Erica Pellerin, Michealine Karpen, Kristy Poulin, Ashley Wigmore, Niki-Lynn Reed and Teawna Todoschuk. The interment took place in the Garden of Crucifixion at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Warren Todoschuk, Tammy Mitchell, Jamie Todoschuk, Jody Todoschuk, Evan Todoschuk, and Kolton Todoschuk serving as the casket bearers.
