AICHELE - Mr. Helmut Aichele of Yorkton, formerly of the Saltcoats district, beloved husband of Iris Aichele passed away at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the age of 82 years, with family at his side. Helmut Milton Aichele was born on April 13, 1932 in the Otthon District. He was the fifth of nine children, born to William and Huldina Aichele. Helmut was raised and attended school in the Fone Hill and Otthon districts. Helmut grew up working on and off the farm helping to provide for his parents and siblings. In 1962, Helmut left home to attend Canadian Nazarene College in Winnipeg, MB for one semester. He later returned to Saltcoats where he worked with his brother Walter on the family farm. Helmut accepted the Lord as his personal Saviour at a young age. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Saltcoats where he faithfully served in a variety of positions for many years. Helmut and Iris were united in marriage on July 9, 1977. Together, with Iris' three children, they continued farming on the home quarter near Saltcoats. In 2011, Milton and Iris sold the farm and moved to Yorkton where they resided together until Milton's declining health necessitated a move to the Theodore Health Centre in April 2014. He resided there until his passing. Helmut was predeceased by his mother Huldina, father William, brothers Alfred, Alvin and Walter, sisters Selma and Lorraine, sister-in-law Dorothy Aichele, brothers-in-law Nick Protsko and Harland Geiger. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Iris of Yorkton, SK; step-daughter Sharon Airriess of Sylvan Lake, AB; step-daughter Diane (John) Marshall of Dauphin, MB; step-son Kevin of Winnipeg, MB; son-in-law Stephen Airriess of Spruce View, AB; grandchildren Nathan (Paige) Airriess of Red Deer, AB; Jordan Airriess and partner Alexandria Adam of Stony Plain, AB; Jessica and Meghan Airriess of Spruce View, AB; Logan, Joshua and Matthew Marshall of Dauphin, MB; great-grandchildren Lincoln Airriess of Red Deer, AB and Sierra Adam of Stony Plain, AB; brother Ed (Joyce) Aichele of Yorkton, SK; sister Alice (Cecil) Geiger of Three Hills, AB; brother Irwin (Esther) Aichele of Calgary, AB; sisters-in-law Emma Aichele of Langley, BC and June Aichele of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and special friends. He will be missed by all. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Rick Gibson officiating. The organist, Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, 'My Jesus, I love Thee', 'What a Friend We Have in Jesus' and 'What a Day That Will Be'. The eulogy was given by daughter, Sharon and a tribute was shared by son, Kevin. A special musical selection, 'Because He Lives' was sung by the children, Kevin, Diane and Logan. The interment took place in the family plot in the Garden of St. Matthew at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Nathan Airriess, Jordan Airriess, Wally Bowlin, Dennis Aichele, Tony Tarabokija and John Protsko serving as the casket bearers. Memorials honouring Helmut's life may be made to Gideon's International or the Theodore Health Centre.
