Obituary of Edward Zastrisny
A memorial folder from the funeral service may be printed under the "Memories" tab, then choose "Memorial Program".ZASTRISNY - Mr. Edward Zastrisny of the Sheho district, beloved husband of Phyllis Zastrisny passed away on February 26, 2015 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. He was 71 years of age. Ed was born in Foam Lake, SK on July 13, 1943 to Leon and Doris Zastrisny. Ed attended Fosty and Sheho school. Ed developed Polio at the age of 6, which left him dependent on braces and crutches the rest of his life. Ed's strength and motivation, he was determined to succeed. He graduated from an Electric Repair Course for small motors in Regina. Ed worked at Yorkton Electric Motor Repair for a few years before he owned and operated this business for 30 years retiring in 2000. Ed married Phyllis on November 6, 1971. They lived in Yorkton for a few years then purchased a farm south of Sheho where they raised four children, Treasa, Tammy, Tara and Tyson. Ed loved his job, repairing all kinds of small motors, there were times you would find him at his work desk tinkering into all hours of the night. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting with family and friends, playing Saturday night bingo, but most of all Ed loved his "wrestling" and his animals on the farm. Ed leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 43 years Phyllis, daughters Treasa (Jason) of Saskatoon, Tammy (Dale) of Theodore, Tara (Derek) of Saskatoon and son Tyson (Carissa) of Saskatoon. His grandchildren Amanda, Emma, Carson, Dekea, Jagger, Ava and Eastyn. His sister Myrtle of Edmonton, brothers Orest (Judy) of Sheho, Wayne (Donna) of Theodore and numerous special nieces and nephews. Baby(cat), Hurley(dog) and Shep(dog). The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday March 3rd, 2015 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Jen Dresser officiating. The eulogy was conveyed by Isabel Senga and Bev Ryczak. Musical Selections, (Tribute from Family) "This is My Prayer For You", "One More Day" and "Love Without End, Amen" were included in the service. Honourary urn bearers were Isabel Senga and Bev Ryczak. The interment followed in the Garden of Memories at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Jim Young serving as the urn bearer.
