KRASOWSKI - John Krasowski, beloved husband of Bev Krasowki of the Willowbrook district passed away on February 28, 2015 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre at the age of fifty-nine years. John was born in Yorkton on April 28, 1955, son of Borden and Eleanor Krasowski. He was the oldest of 11 children and spent the majority of his childhood on the family farm in Willowbrook. He met his wife, Beverly, and they were married on July 9, 1977. They started their life together in Yorkton, where they resided for a short period of time before moving out to an acreage near the family farm. It was here where they raised their three wonderful children: Christopher, Kyle and Jennifer. John discovered how rewarding an honest day's work was while working with his father on the family farm and carried this work ethic forward with him throughout his years. He worked at Sasktel for 31 years before retiring from the company. He was never the type to stay idle for long though and soon started working for Magna Electric, locating underground cables, then began a management position with Medius Restoration in Yorkton. While he worked full time, he always had time to lend a hand at the family farm and especially loved harvest time. His greatest passion was curling. When he wasn't curling himself, he could be found watching it on TV or watching/coaching his wife and sons. He was their greatest fan, although he didn't always agree with the shots they called, as evident by him shaking his head behind the glass. He was a very active member of the Willowbrook Curling Club and was involved in activities such as planning bonspiels and making and maintaining the ice. His influence on the sport didn't end in Willowbrook though; he curled in hundreds of bonspiels around the province and his name was well recognized in the curling community. He also enjoyed camping at Good Spirit Lake, fishing, baseball, snowmobiling, ATVing, and anything to do with an engine. Amongst those who were closest to John, he was known as a devoted husband, father, son and friend. He would do anything in his power to ensure the happiness and safety of his loved ones. He was always willing to help out a friend in need and wouldn't hesitate to offer or lend a hand. However, what the majority of us will remember most about John is that contagious laugh, warm smile and his love for life. May he rest well knowing that he lived a great life and had such a great influence on all of us. It is a shame that he was taken from us too soon; he will be missed very much. John leaves to cherish his memory, Beverly, his loving wife of 37 years; his son, Chris (Hong); his son, Kyle (Karla); his daughter, Jennifer (Tyler) and his grandson, Nate. He also leaves behind his parents, Borden & Eleanor; sisters, Brenda (Rick) Popoff, Arlene (Eugene) Osicki, Joanne (Nick) Smutt, Dianne (Brad) Schwitzer, Gwen (Garnet) Schick, Sandy (Vince) Somogyi, Debbie (Garth) Greiner; brothers, Greg (Karen) Krasowski, Terry (Marlene) Krasowski, Craig (Tracey) Krasowski; sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Frank) Schmeltzer, Linda (Art) Zimmer, Gloria Lipinski; brother-in-Law, Adam (Joanne) Lipinski; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. A Prayer Vigil was held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Francis Hengen officiating. Bev's co-worker, Rick Yaholnitsky served as a Lector. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 6, 2015 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Francis Hengen as the Celebrant. Nephew and godchild, Mark Schmeltzer served as the cross bearer. John's cousin, Marilyn Beres and brother-in-law, Vincent Somogyi served as the Lectors.
