Obituary of David Wayne Pritchard
PRITCHARD - David Wayne Pritchard Sr. was born on May 5, 1956 in Welby, Saskatchewan. He lived most of his life in Yorkton, Saskatchewan where he married Eva Brazeau in April 1980-1987. He received his Adult 12 Education. He worked in numerous fields including working in carpentry with his father William John Pritchard (Pritchard's Handyman Service) after moving to Saskatoon, Sk in 2002, he continued working in renovations and as a janitor until he injured his back, he was also a Secretary at the John Howard Society. David spent a lot of his free time volunteering, working at the Salvation Army for suffering men, Soul Harbour Rescue Centre, Men's Hostile, once a week at the AIDS Drop-In Centre, and once a year at the Alco-thon. David's hobbies included jigging which he won competitions, playing the spoons, upcycling old bicycles and giving them to needy children, visiting family and friends and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren quoting "I couldn't do much for my own children, because of stuff that happens in one's life. But, I tried my hardest to do what I could for my grandchildren as I loved them all very very much. Especially Kingston, because he taught me what true love was and is. Thank you Father God, Thank you Jesus." He was a very loving and caring man, willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. David took pride in his 7 year sobriety and attended AA meetings at ‘Yours, Mine & Ours Group'. Before his passing, David gave his life to Jesus on April 10, 2015 but was previously baptized in Jesus' name. His favorite scripture being Psalms 23, and the Lord's Prayer. David passed away in the comfort of his brother Daniel's residence. David is predeceased by his parents William and Alice Pritchard, his grandparents, his children's mother Eva Charlene Cote, and his step-daughter Hollie Cote. David leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings, Lucille (Albert), James, Rena (Gale), Lucy (Ricky), Daniel (Jennifer), and Teresa. His children, Eva (Arden), David Jr. (Jodi), Kenneth (Alisha), Tyrone, and step-sons Harley, Gordie, and John. His grandchildren Anika, T'Keyah, Kingston, Jeremy, Angel, Tre'Sean, Gage, Breah, Haleigh, Zoey, Raime, Harmony, Zoen, Elijah, Kenny Jr., Amisha, and Teegan. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service was held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from the Yorkton Friendship Centre with Pastor Rick Flamont presiding. Several songs and tributes were given throughout the service by family members and friends. The Metis Nation flagbearers were Melvin & Matthew Pritchard. The honorary bearers were David's brothers and sisters and Robbie G. & Randy Taylor. The interment took place at the Yorkton City Cemetery with Daniel Pritchard Jr., Dennis Rushka, Vernon Kalmakoff, LeeRick Flamont, Charlie Brown, Jayson & Clayton Langan, Ken Pritchard and George Fisher serving as the casketbearers. Memorials may be made to the Yorkton Friendship Centre in support of the hot Lunch program.
