Obituary of Anne Grebinski
Grebinski - Mrs. Anne Grebinski of Ituna, beloved wife of John Grebinski entered eternal rest on July 10, 2015 at Elmview Health Care Centre at the age of 89 years. Anne Grebinski was born on December 20, 1925 on the family farm in the Beckenham district. She was the fifth of sixteen children born to Fred Premak and Stephania (Mishurski). Her siblings were Joseph, John, Mary, Peter, Sophie, Rose, Steve, Olga, Jean, Pauline, Paul, Mike, Kathy, Walter, and Ted. After completing her education at Winthorpe School she worked at various jobs. These included working on a farm near Abernathy, and at Hotels in Foam Lake and Fort Qu'Appelle. On July 17, 1949 Anne married John Grebinski. They farmed in the Beckenham district and raised their family of five children. Anne worked tirelessly building the homestead with John. She took care of the house and children, as well as tended a huge garden, small livestock, milked cows, and preserved and canned food for winter meals. She always had food on the table within minutes of an impromptu visit. She also loved her flower gardens and liked a well-kept yard. They retired and moved to Ituna in 1981. She made many quilts, pitched in at the kitchen for church functions, and was a member of hospital auxiliary and the Ituna Social club. Anne was predeceased her husband John and son Gerald, by sisters; Mary Kresowaty, Olga Ripco, and brothers; Joseph, John, Peter, Mike, Paul, and Walter. She leaves to cherish her memory; children Katherine (Marcel) Piché, John (Marlene) Grebinski, Grace (Louis) Baxter, and Rick; seven grandchildren Krystal (Shaheen) Zareh, Jason (Xiao Xia) Piché, Michelle (Chad) Nelson, Jayne (Steven) Briggs, Lauren Grebinski, Robert (Dixie) Baxter and Danielle Baxter; five great-grandchildren: Zayden and Leyla Zareh, Devon Piché, Finley and Brooks Nelson. Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Ituna with Rev. Father Albert Schmitz as Celebrant. The organist, Paulette van der Helm led members of the parish choir in the singing of the hymns, "Be Not Afraid", "Like A Shepherd"and "Alleluia". The readers were Danille Baxter and Lauren Grebinski. Reflections of Anne's Life were shared by son, John Grebinski. The interment followed in the Ituna R.C. Cemetery with Eugene Kresowaty, Michael Spilchuk, Wilmer Kolybaba, Dennis Premak, Lorne Koback and Ed Mazden serving as the casket bearers.
