Obituary of Ethel Tank
Ethel Helen Tank of St. Paul Lutheran Home, Melville beloved wife of Paul Tank. Ethel entered her eternal rest peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Ethel was born on May 11, 1925 at Stockholm, Saskatchewan, the eldest daughter to Andrew and Helen (nee Rakai) Toth. Ethel grew up in the Esterhazy-Kaposvar area where she received her education. In 1943 Ethel left home and moved to Melville, Saskatchewan where she first starting working at White Lunch Café. Later she worked as cleaning lady for various people then began employment for Ideal Dry Cleaners and met Paul in the Coral Room at the Waverly Hotel. Ethel and Paul were united in marriage on June 19, 1970 at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church in Melville. Ethel moved to Paul's farm south of Melville and continued to work for the Dry Cleaners for a year. Ethel loved the farm and took an active part in the farming operation, tending to the chickens, sheep and cattle as well growing a large garden. She also found time to sew, knit, crochet and pick all sorts of berries. In the fall of 1985 the couple moved into Melville. On April 27, 2007 due to health reasons Ethel became a resident at St. Paul Lutheran Home. Predeceased by her father Andrew Sr.; mother Helen; brothers, Andrew Toth Jr. (Gertie), Ernest Toth (Gladys); sister, Isobel (Ed) Boyko; a brother and two sisters in infancy; her first husband, Earl Babcock; son Rodger Babcock; Stepson, Albert; Step Daughter, Ruth (Josephsen); step grandson, David. Ethel leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Paul Tank, two sons, Bill (Lorna) Babcock, and their children, Scott (Janet) and Leanne (friend C.T.); Eugene (Dianne) Babcock and their children, Scott (Karen) and Tracy (Doug); Daughter, Norma (Doug) Biro (nee Babcock) and her children, Kim (Doug) and Keith (Tracy); daughter-in-law Helen Babcock (Tillmans) and her daughters, Shera-Lin (Jay), Verena, Joleena, Tiffany; Ruth's children, Patricia, Elizabeth, Mary, Linda, Albert; 25 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; 5 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; and as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
