Obituary of Wayne Michael Kozak
Wayne Michael Kozak was born on August 24, 1977 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan; a son of Connie (nee Nesbitt) and Barry Kozak. Wayne was raised on the farm and received his education at the Theodore School, graduating in 1995. As a young man Wayne first tried his hand at auto body repair, but discovered that was not for him. He then enrolled in a welding course, and eventually worked his way to his journeyman's certificate. This opened many doors for Wayne, he worked for a couple of years in Tisdale at the Irving Manufacturing Co., then spent four years in Regina, where he worked at Dumar and Brandt Industries. Wayne eventually moved back to the Theodore district and for the past 5 ½ years had been employed with EMW Industrial Ltd. Wayne's passion was the outdoors, fishing and hunting took up much of his leisure time. He also spent many, many enjoyable hours in the video gaming realm and made many friends in the gaming world. Wayne's death was sudden, he collapsed and passed away while out on a hunting trip in the Theodore district with his best friend Johnny Beaton last Saturday, November 21st. He was 38 years of age. Predeceased by his grandfathers, Mike Kozak and Albert Nesbitt; he will be sadly missed by his parents, Barry & Connie of Theodore; brother David of Regina; former sister-in-law, Mandy Horvath; grandmothers, Alice Solomon (Kozak) of Theodore, and Tina Nesbitt of Yorkton; and by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins, as well as his many friends and co-workers. A visitation for family and friends was held on Thursday evening, November 26th 2015 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Cremation followed, and the funeral service was held on Friday morning, November 27th 2015 from the Memorial GArdens Family Centre with Karen Kuzek of the United Church of Canada officiating. Tributes were given by Chris Hicock & Ryan Steinhaeusser. Organist, Iris Skehar led the congregation in the singing of the hymn 'How Great Thou Art'. Two taped selections were heard, Riverbank by Jeff Bates, and Go Rest High on that Mountain by Vince Gill. A memorial luncheon was held in the Family Centre immediately following the funeral. Wayne's ashes were then interred in the Theodore Cemetery. Wayne's brother David was the urnbearer.
