Randy Chan posted a condolence

Sincere condolences to the Chorney family, on behalf of my parents Kay & Ron Chan (formerly of Chan's Central Grocery...) I am sure my folks would like for you to know that 'Peco' was a very warm & familiar face for many years at their grocery. Peco was the face of the local Yorkton creamery that provided decades of dairy products that my folks retailed. I am certain that his sense of service inspired my folks to do the same, and we are truly sorry that he has moved on. Until we all meet again, our condolences to the Chorney's...Randy Chan (Winnipeg), for Kay/Ron Chan (Richmond, BC)

I recall watching Peco play hockey for the Terriers when I was a youngster growing up in Yorkton. He was a solid hockey player and a gentleman on and off the ice. I was visiting the former Chicago Black Hawk goalie Glenn Hall recently and he showed me a picture of his junior team ,the Humboldt Indians and in the front row was Peco Chorney. Glenn remembered him well and spoke highly of Peco and also Metro Prystai, two stalwart Yorkton hockey players who were his teammates years ago.

Dear Grace & family: I worked with Peco at the Dairy Producer's Co-op from 1962 to 1974. A memory I have of him was his love of sports and sunflower seeds. He could always be seen munching on a mouth full at a time. He was always smiling and always had a calm manner about him. Thinking you at this time, very difficult to lose the ones we love.
