Our hearts are breaking with the news of Bill's passing. We had the great pleasure of meeting Coach Bill during this Cardinals season as he took Justin under his wing for an amazing summer experience. Bill took time to chat with us whenever we could make it to the games and shared his wealth of baseball advise for Justin and some great stories & experiences. Our prayers are with you Erna and your wonderful family, some of who we had the pleasure of meeting. I am so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. I got to know him thru the Saskatoon YellowJackets and attended several meetings with him. He was a great man for stories and I looked forward to every visit. He always carried my baseball card in his wallet and showed it me often just so I knew he still had it. I will miss him very much.

I was saddened to hear of the loss of Bill. As a travelling umpire in the WMBL for many years, it was always a pleasure to work his club's games. I always looked forward to seeing Bill at the plate meeting or in the dugout. His clubs were always first class and so is the organization, mostly because of his contributions. He never had a disrespectful thing to say to any of us on the field, which is a rare quality in a manager. We'll all miss him on the field. I offer our condolences to his family and friends and that of the Yorkton Ball Club.
