Much love and care your way. Gerry and Katie were very kind to me when I went to their home for SMM in the 1980s and early 1990s. I appreciated their care and welcome very much. I enjoyed them. Katie was very busy in looking after old folks. I feel blessed to have seen Gerry one last time at gospel meeting in Melville in October 2016. He was a good man.

Our dear Margie, Jim, Lisa & family, and Olga, Heinz & Elva (Vernon relatives) So many memories came to mind of your Dad with his Doodle Bug lure; his love for hunting, fishing, boats and engines. / I remember how he liked sugar! / Wasn't he also the star at Star? / He and your Mom added to what we hear of Newfie hospitality-every word said was true and demonstrated in their lives./ I recall wonderful evenings of fellowship after many delicious meals in your folks' home-Gerry caught and Katie cooked. / We warmly appreciated your Dad's (and Mom's) kindnesses to several of the Howletts through the years / Your Dad and Mom may be gone, and they'll always be remembered./ When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. With heartfelt love and hugs. xoxo

When we heard of Gerry's passing we were very sorrowful as yet another one of our dear friends has stepped from time into eternity..... Upon reflection, we realize the sorrow is for the loss of such a dear man as Gerry. Memories of days gone by flood our mind as we remember meals in Gerry and Katies home. Yet comforted to remember the love Gerry had for God and Jesus. A life well lived! You will be missed!!
