Obituary of Veronica Kwasnitza
Veronica Marie Kwasnitza was born on October 16th, 1952 in Ituna, SK. She is the 4th child of Metro and Grace Karkut (nee Nayko). She has one sister Emily (Paul) Yakimoski; brothers Ronnie (Iris), Kenny (Marion), and Kevin (Bernadette). Veronica attended Olga School and then finished off in Ituna. She married Peter Kwasnitza on October 9th, 1970 in the Stadnyk Church. They have 4 children April, Peter Michael, Geraldine and Chris. Veronica was busy before and after her illness. She drove bus as a spare for a time being but was a stay at home mom for the most part. After she was diagnosed with M.S. in 1984, she still enjoyed doing as much as she could. Whether it was going to wagon treks, camping with her sister and family, or sitting by the kitchen table and crocheting. She enjoyed hunting and fishing in the boat before her illness got the better of her. Her M.S. did not stop her from going to make perogies at her sisters or making cabbage rolls at Kozy Kitchen. She enjoyed a good game of cards as well as faithfully watching the Toronto Blue Jays. When Peter was working at the Co-op, she would get on her scooter and go and have coffee with him. Their longtime friend Alistar Brennan would show up at the Co-op and have coffee with them. When Peter finally retired 2015, they moved their morning coffee to the Kozy Kitchen or one of the other restaurants in town. Baba also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids who were a big part of her life. On Sunday February 18, 2018, at the age of 65, Veronica passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her parents Metro and Grace, her brother Ronnie, brother-in-law Paul and son-in-law Owen Lutzko, her in-laws Mike and Katie Kwasnitza, and brother in-law Eddie Kirstuik. She is survived by her husband Peter, her children April (Lammie) Pavelich, Peter Michael (Charla) Kwasnitza, Geraldine Lutzko, Chris (Krissy) Kwasnitza, her grandchildren Tanis Castle, Taylor and Brooklyn Lutzko, Tiffany and Peter Joseph Kwasnitza; sister and brothers, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, aunts and uncles plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, baba and an aunt. She always put others before her own and will be greatly missed by all and will be forever in our hearts. Service Information
