Obituary of Patricia Muriel Fletcher
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Patricia Muriel Fletcher. Even though she lost her battle with cancer she had her family by her side. Pat was born in Ituna SK on June 25, 1934 to Mary Whyte (Morison) and Frank Egbert (Bert) McLellan. She was raised on the family farm in the Homefield District until she was 19. She attended the Smokeside School and the Yorkton Collegiate Institute. In furthering her education she graduated with a Nursing Diploma from the Yorkton General Hospital in 1956. She married Arnold Kenneth Fletcher on Sept. 3, 1957. Having worked in various positions at the Yorkton Union and Yorkton General Hospital she then retired in 1985 as Head Nurse of the First East wing. Mom loved to keep busy with gardening, quilting and cribbage, she also enjoyed bird watching and the outdoors. Many hours were also spent bowling and rock hounding with family and friends. But most of all she enjoyed having family home and would cook and bake everyone's favourite. Pat was predeceased by parents Mary and Frank McLellan of Homefield SK and husband Arnold Fletcher of Yorkton. She'll be missed VERY MUCH by daughters Janice, Roxanne and Rona; grandchildren Janna Ferguson and Colin Peterson along with great grandchildren; sisters Clara Hillier and Gladys McLellan, many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. The funeral service was held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from Westview United Church in Yorkton with Rev. Deborah Smith officiating. Organist, Sharon Litvanyi led members of the church choir and the congregation in the singing of the hymns In the Bulb There Is A Flower', Psalm 23 The Lord's My Shepherd, and We Shall Go Out With Hope of Resurrection.
