Obituary of Frank Theodore Hudy
Frank Theodore Hudy Frank was born in Melville to Mary and Zachary (Harry) Hudy on September 20, 1919 and passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2018 with his family by his side. Frank lived his entire life in Melville, working for Abel's Cartage for a number of years and later, starting his own trucking business. In 1960, Frank began farming in the poultry business along with grain and cattle farming. Retirement was not part of his makeup as he continued to make a daily trek to the farm thus contributing a huge part to Jerry's farming operation. Frank was a lifelong member of St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church and served on the Parish's various committees. He enjoyed sports and, in his youth, he was a member of a Melville baseball team who went on to win a Saskatchewan baseball championship. Many hockey games were also played on the frozen sloughs on the east side of the city. Frank was an observant spectator at Jerry's hockey and fastball games and was thrilled to also follow the sporting accomplishments of grandsons, Blair and Neil. He was a great supporter of the Melville Millionaires, having spent time in all four of Melville's rinks, rarely missing any games during his lifetime. Frank married Frances Lysiuk on June 13, 1943. They were blessed with two children, daughter, Gloria and son, Jerry. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Paul, and two sisters in infancy. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 75 years, Frances, his daughter, Gloria, and son, Jerry (Leona), grandchildren, Blair Champagne (Carla), Brandon, Man., Neil Champagne, Vancouver, BC, great-grandchildren, Kenton, Hudson and Alana Champagne. For those who wish a memorial donation in Frank's memory may be made to St. George's Cemetery Fund as gifts of remembrance. Service Information
