Obituary
Obituary of Thomas Hewitt
Mr. Thomas George Hewitt went home to be with our Lord on June 19, 2018. Waiting for Tom in heaven was his beautiful wee wife Jeannie Hewitt, Tom's mum and dad Samuel and Lily Hewitt, his older sister Marie, his older brother Sam, sister-in-law Myrtle and many other beloved relatives. Sally, Toms sister, raised him as her own, in the midst of many wars and kept him safe from harm. Sally sure loved the blue-eyed boy. Tom has so many friends, both here and in heaven, and they will miss him dearly. Tom came into this world on December 26, 1940 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Tom bravely left his homeland in 1976 to come to Canada with Jeannie and their two children Kim and Thomas. Thomas happily married Lori Schmidt from Calgary, where they now live. Kim met Bruce Thompson from Bredenbury, happily married him and moved to Yorkton where they now live. Since then, he has had 2 granddaughters Kaylee (Randy Bodnar) and Megan, 2 grandsons Mitchell and Matthew (Jennifer Bassingthwaite) and 4 great-grandchildren Kiana, Mason, Alexia and Oliver. Tears have been surely shed since the angels took Tom to heaven, but his spirit lives on in the amazing family he made while here on earth. We all will miss him immensely Tom was a Loyal member of the Masonic Lodge and there will be a service in his honour in Yorkton where he has lived for the past 9 years. Never two children loved their father so much, and our Dad poured out his love on us continually. We will always love and remember him and our wee mum Jeannie. We are taking Tom home to Ireland in September, just in time for their wedding anniversary on September 22. There wasn't a day passed that he didn't miss his Jeannie, and they are finally reunited and will be resting together in love at Roselawn Cemetery in Belfast. Tom will be forever Loved and Remembered
