Neil was a gem. I count my years on the Canadian Community Newspapers Assocation board of directors not by actions, but friendships made. Neilu2019s infectious laugh - even in the heat of board debate - was disarming. His passion for Saskatchewan, Yorkton and community newspapers infectious. Most of all was his unlimited love for family. He made an immense contribution and left wonderful memories for those of us blessed to have known him. Neil and I shared so many childhood adventures together, its a wonder we survived as long as we did. Every child in our neighbourhood was blessed to grow under the umbrella of the Thom household. His parents, Bob and Joyce, taught us Love, respect, and humility. We are all better people for it. Neil grew into the Man who embodied the very best of that Family , of that neighbourhood. He shared that freely with all who were fortunate enough to meet him. Those who knew him, had no choice but to endure all that goodness, humour, and pure Love. Pure Love is Neil and Julianne's marriage and life together, You two made each other the people you are , So much greater the loss. No words to express my families sympathy for yours, just know that we have all lost a rare gift , Together. Rest now My Brother, we will have some catching up to do when we meet again.
