Obituary of Leslie Sarada
SARADA - Mr. Leslie Sarada of Willowbrook passed away on August 29, 2011 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre with family at his side. He was 68 years of age. Leslie George Sarada was born on June 2, 1943 in Yorkton, the son of George and Annie (nee Yaremko) Sarada. He was raised on the family farm in the Willowbrook district and attended Stoney Cooley School. Following his schooling he helped his parents with farming. On August 14, 1965 Leslie was united in marriage to Lois Bella. The couple moved to Lake Cowichen, BC where Leslie was employed with Western Forest Products. It was here that they were blessed with their first son Darren, born in 1966. Later, Leslie and Lois moved back to Yorkton and here their son Shawn was born in 1970. It was in the Yorkton area that Leslie owned and operated Leslie Sarada Construction. He enjoyed helping his brother Harold on the farm, working with machinery and dealing in scrap metal. Leslie was predeceased by his wife Lois of 27 years in 1992; his mother Annie in 2005 and father George in 1979. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons Darren (Shelley) and grandchildren Dustin and Kristina of Calgary; Shawn and grandchildren Branden, Paige and Jayda of Yorkton; brothers Harold of Yorkton and Bob (Connie) of Saskatoon; sisters-in-law Carole Yakichuk (Don) of Lloydminster, AB, Donna Beck of Estevan, Kathy Woychesko (John) of Yorkton and Sherry Kozie (Darrell) of Yorkton; a brother-in-law Doug Bella (Kathy) of Estevan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers were held on Thursday, September 1st at the Requiem Divine Liturgy on Friday, September 2nd at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Thaddeus Krawchuk, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Ed Pindus, Colette Karapita and Parish Choir Members. The cross bearer was Megan Woychesko and the epistle reader was Nicole Jensen. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Frank Schurko, Dustin Sarada, Trevor Woychesko, Brent Woloschuk, Dale Lazurko and Richard Sarada serving as the casket bearers.
